The Big Three, Part One: Free Fall

The recent correction by AE911Truth includes this remarkable paragraph (emphasis mine):

In the debate about what brought down the World Trade Center, providing the grand “problem-reaction” for which the War on Terror is the alleged “solution,” our position is solid on every important point. This is underscored by our critics’ noisy attention to small errors such as this. The promoters of, and believers in, the official government conspiracy have always ignored or misrepresented the gross features of the three WTC towers’ destruction. Those features — the speed, symmetry, thoroughness, completeness — have always pointed unequivocally to surreptitious demolition with explosives as the cause of that destruction. The details of how the demolitions were accomplished are largely irrelevant at this point in time, except that al Qaeda clearly lacked the access to accomplish any variant of them.

As I pointed out before, it’s odd that AE911Truth thinks that these matters of thermite delivery systems, etc., are the small stuff. After all, 111 slides out of its 567-slide presentation concern the thermite part of their speculation. That’s almost 20% of the entire thing! On the contrary, the matters that it claims to be the important features — “the speed, symmetry, thoroughness, completeness” — only occupy 42 slides, 7.4% of the whole presentation. If the group is looking for a place to trim the fat, it looks like they’ve found it!

However, the big four — or is it three? How exactly are thoroughness and completeness separate arguments? — have been dealt with again and again. Since those are the big ones according to the group, I’ll simply use those as the place to continue this website.

First up is Free Fall, a page rewritten from the old AE911Truth.INFO website. A careful examination of this particular argument shows that AE911Truth doesn’t seem to possess the virtue of internal consistency. This does not bode well for AE911Truth’s desire to have subpoena power to examine these matters. If they can’t be bothered to deliver a coherent argument, why in the world should anyone trust them with governmental power to examine these events?
