Based in Washington, D.C., the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857. Through education, legislative and regulatory development, professional education, and research, the AIA and its more than 83,500 members express their commitment to excellence in design and livability in our nation’s buildings and communities.

Richard Gage is a member of this organization. He has been and continues to use his membership to promote his personal authority in the AE911Truth presentation.

Until May 2008, the AIA logo had been displayed quite prominently on most promotional material from AE911Truth. But after they tried to “crash” an AIA convention, the logo disappeared. When asked why the AIA logo was pulled, the group responded it was part of a website upgrade – yet screenshots exist of the old website before and after the logo purge, well before the upgrade. I cannot say that some confrontation led the AIA to demand its logo be scrubbed, but this is certainly a reasonable hypothesis to explain the facts we have available.
